This audio is so handy, Linnell! At some point, I have to stop reading my on Substack and get ready for work, but your audio lets me keep listening and learning while on the go. Thank you!
This was a riveting reading—thank you! I learned so much about Rastafarian culture just from your retelling of what you read in the book. I’m from Trinidad, and I remember the small Rastafarian communities there, who were also often ostracized. What struck me most was how similar the role of women you described was to what I experienced growing up Catholic. The idea of being ‘unclean’ was definitely something I heard as a child in the 80s. I really enjoyed this podcast and appreciate you sharing your reflections with us.

Thanks Mmerikani! I’m glad you could enjoy listening this morning. Learning history through literature on the go!
This was a great piece. Learning about history and more from you, keep writing.
Thank you 🙏🏾 😊
Very rich history in this review, Lynelle. Also, excellent narration. Loved both the substance and the style. Asante for this!
